First Pull Up!

My goal for the month of September was to get a pull up. Well, I did it on September 28th but, I didn't really count it until someone in my family could verify it. I kept likening it , in my head, to the old saying, if a tree falls in the woods and there's no one to hear it, does it make a sound? I don't know? So, if I do a pull up but no one sees it, does it count? Well, regardless of what you think the answer is, technically I got the pull up in September but, I had it verified by a family member tonight!! In all honestly, I know I got the first one in September but when I went to do it again, for the entire next week, I couldn't do it. What the f--k is that about!!! So today I did it after class and then again tonight, multiple times.  There aren't many times, as a 53 year old adult woman, when you can accomplish a physical task, like a pull up, and get totally pumped up. I cannot express how excited I was. I wanted to jump off the bar and run around the gym yelling yahoo!!!! Fortunately, common sense overcame me and I just skipped in to the ladies room. Skipping
Just another Crossfit example of the importance of persistence and repetition. Pull up after pull up after pull up........

  4. That's awesome! I recently felt the same way about a rope climb. I had my 4th child on June 5th and hadn't done Crossfit before. I had the goal to make it to the top of the rope by the end of the Summer. Luckily I made it on Sept. 21st. on the very last day of Summer. The first day of Fall started Sept. 22nd this year. Now I am working on pull ups. I can do jumping pull ups now after using bands for the Summer. It's great to see what your body can accomplish! I love Crossfit!
